UrbanChain Group is pleased to announce the launch of a new smart parking project in Central, Hong Kong, one of the city’s most prominent commercial districts. The project was delivered in cooperation with Savills, Bank of China and Spectra Technologies, bringing together advanced parking operations, payment infrastructure and digital customer experience.

The new deployment represents the first solution of its kind at the site, combining touchless entry and exit, the latest version of UrbanChain Group’s exit-only multi-payment kiosk, the upgraded UrbanPortal operating platform and a white-labeled UrbanPass web app with receipt recognition for automatic parking discount redemption.

With UrbanPass, drivers can access a digital parking journey without downloading a dedicated app. The receipt recognition function allows eligible users to upload or scan receipts, after which the system verifies the receipt and automatically applies the corresponding parking discount based on predefined redemption rules. This helps reduce manual validation, improve customer convenience and support more efficient parking operations for commercial properties.

The upgraded exit-only kiosk supports multiple payment methods and is designed for high-throughput urban parking environments, enabling users to complete payment and exit more smoothly. Combined with AI-powered vehicle recognition and touchless access control, the system helps reduce friction at entry and exit points while improving operational visibility.

A key technical achievement of the project was the system’s ability to handle Hong Kong’s highly diverse license plate environment. Vehicles in Hong Kong may carry local Hong Kong, Mainland China and Macau plates, and in some cases, multiple plates may be stacked together on the same vehicle. Following launch, the average recognition accuracy gradually improved and exceeded 99.5%, demonstrating the strength and adaptability of UrbanChain Group’s AI camera technology in complex real-world conditions.

Through the upgraded UrbanPortal, the operator and property stakeholders can monitor vehicle activity, payment data, discount redemption, parking records and site performance in real time. The platform enables centralized control and data-driven decision-making, supporting both daily operations and long-term optimization.
